Traffic Citation Process
If you wish to waive:
Waivers may be made in person before the clerk or magistrate in the county where the case is pending, to the clerk of that county by mail, or online at www.payNCticket.org
If you wish to contest:
You have been scheduled for an administrative session of court where you will have an opportunity to speak with the District Attorney in an effort to resolve your case without a trial. This is an informal session of court, so neither the officer nor a judge will be present.
If you wish to contest your ticket by pleading NOT GUILTY you MUST call the Dare County Clerk’s Office by 12:00 pm the day prior to your court date and reschedule your court date to the officer’s court date. The number for the clerk’s office is 252-475-5200.
Crash - Accident Reports
I was involved in car crash and my insurance company needs a copy of the report. What do I do? If you need a copy of a crash / accident report, go to the NCDMV website. Please allow 7-10 days for the reports to be processed and uploaded to the DMV website.
My neighbors are too loud, what can I do?

Where can I find Boat / Kayak ramps in Kitty Hawk? Parks & Picnic Areas?
For the boat ramp kayak launch, from Kitty Hawk Road turn left onto Bob Perry Road and look for the Dare County Public Boat Ramp sign, boat ramp is on the right. At this public launch, there is parking available for up to 30 vehicles, as well as a picnic area and canal that leads out to open sound waters. A kayak launch is also located at Sandy Run Park off of west Kitty Hawk Road. Click on the link below for information on parks in Kitty Hawk.
Can fireworks be set off / deployed in the town of Kitty Hawk?
Most fireworks are illegal in Dare County. on the 4th of July, there are usually several places in Dare County where public fireworks shows are held.

Can I have a fire on the beach?
It shall be unlawful for any person to ignite, cause to be ignited, or maintain a fire on the ocean beaches within the town. (Code 1990, § 4-17; Ord. No. 85-9, 7-15-1985)
